The board will be strengthened with the appointment of a Sales and Marketing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Julian Aitken, will join the Silver Spring board with immediate effect and take on the role of Sales and Marketing Director.  Julian comes with a wealth of relevant drinks experience after holding several senior roles throughout his career at Britvic, Danone Waters, Pom Wonderful and Merrydown. He has wide ranging experience in PLC, equity backed and VC led businesses.

From the 4^th October, Gary West will join the board in the position of Chief Executive Officer.  Gary has previously worked as a consultant for Silver Spring and achieved significant results in this role.  Gary has wide ranging experience encompassing business strategy development and business turnaround within both PLC and equity backed businesses. He has held several board roles across a range of commercial sectors.

At the same time, as part of its drive for a profitable, sustainable and long term future,  a number of redundancies have today been announced at Folkestone.

“The board has had to make some difficult decisions to secure the long term future of the company and that includes streamlining our operation. It is with great regret therefore that we have had to make circa 30 people redundant.

“At the same time we are announcing the appointments of Julian Aitken and Gary West to the Silver Spring board.  Both Julian and Gary bring with them a wealth of experience which will prove invaluable to the development of Silver Spring in the future.  We have some ambitious plans and feel confident that Julian and Gary will drive these forward to ensure we achieve our desired goals.  Silver Spring is a business with huge potential and I am positive that we now have in place a team that can work with us to create a business that we can all be proud of.”
